Grass Fire Near Granada High Extinguished
Firefighters on Thursday evening quickly put down a small grass fire on "Boot Hill."

A small grass fire near was quickly put down by firefighters Thursday evening.
Fire crews were sent to "Boot Hill" -- near the campus and at the corner of Wall Street and East Stanley Boulevard -- just before 7 p.m. for a report of a fire.
The fire was contained to about an acre and a half, officials said.

There were no injuries reported and a cause of the blaze is under investigation, said Jack Neiman-Kimel, Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department battalion chief.
An Alameda County Fire Department engine that was in the area also helped contain the fire.

Boot Hill is no stranger to grass fires. Officials say fire crews each year respond to the area to battle grass fires.
