JMC Cellars Opens In Livermore

The Livermore Wine Community's newest member opened in November on Greenville Road and remains committed to quality, hand-crafted wines.

LIVERMORE, CA — There’s a new winery in town. JMC Cellars, owned by wine industry veteran Jessica Carroll, opened in November at 6800 Greenville Road, in the same spot where Big White House Winery used to be before closing.

Carroll started pouring wine there on weekends, and quickly discovered just how much fun she was having. “I started working at a winery pouring on weekends just for fun and quickly discovered my love for wine. I made the transition to working in wine full time and have never regretted making the switch. I am extraordinarily lucky to get to work in my passion so when an opportunity arose to start my own winery earlier this year I jumped at the chance,” she told Patch.

The self-proclaimed “complete wine nerd and geek” enjoys producing lesser-known varieties like Teroldego and Peloursin, alongside better-known options like Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Merlot. The tasting room is open Friday through Sunday from 11-5 p.m.

The winery has joined the Livermore Wine Community, the professional association of all the vineyards and wineries of the Livermore Valley. “Having been a part of the LV Wine Community for a decade, I can tell you from personal experience the support system that exists here is incredible,” Carroll said. “ It's an honor to be part of a region that is an amazing place to produce wine with true comradery.”
