John Oates To Perform At Bankhead Theater

Tickets are selling out quickly to see John Oates, one half of the world-famous musical duo Hall & Oates.

LIVERMORE, CA – John Oates, of Hall & Oates fame, will perform an evening of “Acoustic Music and Storytelling” at the Bankhead Theater Friday evening.

Oates was the guitarist and occasional songwriter for the duo Hall & Oates, alongside Daryl Hall. The duo produced a string of number one hits and Grammy-nominated songs, and both have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Oates was born in 1948 and grew up outside Philadelphia. He recorded his first single, “I Need Your Love,” at age 18 when he was still in high school. He met Daryl Hall at Temple University, where they were both involved in several bands. In 1972, they formed their famous duo, and were signed with Atlantic Records. They recorded 21 albums to date, sold over 80 million units worldwide, and produced over 20 Top 40 hits.

Oates left the duo in 1999, but released three albums, and continues to collaborate with other artists.

His performance at the Bankhead will include acoustic covers of his music and stories from his colorful life.
