Katharine McPhee To Headline Brilliance At The Bankhead
The star of "American Idol," "Smash," and "Waitress" is headed to Livermore in September. Here's how to score a ticket.
LIVERMORE, CA — Get ready for a “smashing” performance: "American Idol" runner-up and Broadway star Katharine McPhee will headline Brilliance at the Bankhead, the annual gala fundraiser benefiting Livermore Valley Arts.
McPhee became a household name as the charismatic runner-up of “American Idol's" fifth season in 2006. Since then, she’s released several bestselling albums like “Katharine McPhee” in 2007, which featured the Billboard Top 30 hit “Over It.” She gained wider recognition for her leading role on “Smash,” an Emmy-winning NBC show about the creation of a Broadway musical. MacPhee was a Broadway star in real life as the lead in the musical “Waitress.”
MacPhee will perform alongside the Livermore-Amador Symphony on Sept. 7 at the Bankhead. The evening will also feature dinner, drinks, a silent and live auction, and desserts.

Brilliance at the Bankhead is no stranger to A-list names. In 2023, “Seinfeld” star Jason Alexander headlined, while the years before saw singer Ben Folds and actress Vanessa Williams.
Tickets are on pre-sale for members today, while the public can buy tickets starting March 15. Visit livermorearts.org/membership to become a member.
