Lawrence Livermore Conducting Prescribed Burn Near Tracy

The burn will be performed by ACFD under contract with Lawrence Livermore National Security in May.

LIVERMORE, CA — The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory is conducting an annual prescribed burn at its Site 300 experimental test site just south of Tracy around the week of May 12, LLNL announced.

The burn will be performed by the Alameda County Fire Department under contract with Lawrence Livermore National Security, LLC., which manages the lab for the U.S. Department of Energy and the National Nuclear Security Administration.

Crews will implement careful burning along the site fence line and in portions of the site interior under controlled conditions, according to LLNL. The burn schedule depends on appropriate weather conditions, which are confirmed by air district meteorologists the day of the planned burn.
