Livermore author’s thriller “Mayhem at Sea” to be Published August 15

The novel is a PSWA award-winning book

Livermore, Calif., August 5, 2023: On Aug. 15 Rough Edges Press will publish the award-winning thriller “Mayhem at Sea,” which describes how pirates hijack a cruise ship. The book is the third volume in the three-book Luke Ryder series by Livermore mystery/thriller author John G. Bluck.

“In this latest Ryder adventure, the deputy sheriff looks for some relaxation time on an Alaskan-bound cruise ship with his girlfriend, former escort Layla. . . As with the first Luke Ryder exploit, ‘Death in the Holler,’ John brings us another page-turner,” said the author of “Recounting the Anthrax Attacks” and retired FBI agent R. Scott Decker. “Ryder's quiet cruise to the Alaska coast and his anticipated whale watching . . . soon turn into a fight for his and Layla's lives along with those of several hundred fellow passengers.”

In mid-July the Public Safety Writers Association (PSWA) honored “Mayhem at Sea” with a book award. Later, on July 22, the New York Post recommended the first book in the series, “Death in the Holler,” as one of “20 action-packed books to bring on vacation this summer.” In this novel, Ryder solves a murder that takes place on a Kentucky farm's food plot.
