Livermore Officer In 'Celeste Guap' Sex Scandal Resigns: Reports

The officer is being investigated for possible sexual misconduct with a teenage girl.

LIVERMORE, CA — A Livermore police officer who is under investigation for a possible role in an online sex scandal involving a teenage girl has resigned, according to multiple reports.

“This incident does not accurately reflect the professionalism of the men and women of the Livermore Police Department who protect our community every day," Livermore Police Chief Michael Harris said in a statement. "Now that this matter has reached a conclusion, we will move forward and continue to serve with honor and protect with purpose. I would like to thank our community for their continued support and patience as we completed this investigation.”

The officer, who has not been named, had been placed on leave pending an internal investigation. Police officials said personnel matters are required to be kept confidential, in accordance with state law.

The Livermore officer is among several Bay Area police officers who are alleged to have had a sexual relationship with a girl whose online alias is Celeste Guap.

Three Oakland police officers were placed on leave and two other officers resigned when it was alleged that they had sexual relations with Guap, who's now 18, when she was a minor.
