LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Police Department is holding a DUI checkpoint on Friday, Dec. 13 from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. at an undisclosed location.
Police are conducting the operation to stop anyone impaired from alcohol, drugs, or prescription medications. Drivers with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, a suspended license, and possible jail time.
“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk,” Officer Kurt Cofer said. “Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improves traffic safety,” LPD Officer Kurt Cofer said in a statement.
