LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Police Department has helped dozens of community members this holiday season through various programs.

The LPD's annual Giving Tree Program helped donate gifts like clothing, plants, books, and small toys to 14 families, 44 seniors, and 22 veterans. KidsBikeLane.org, which partnered with LPD, donated 13 bikes, and rallied 230 volunteers to build 604 bikes for charities across the Bay Area. Amador Valley Quilters donated 87 handmade quilts.

On Dec. 14, Livermore police held their annual Shop With A Cop event, which helped 43 local children in need shop for themselves and their families. Kids received treats at Starbucks, then went shopping at Walmart. They then returned to the Junction Avenue School for gift wrapping and breakfast. 30 students from Granada High School's Marching Band attended and played holiday music.
