Livermore: Rebate Increases For Drought-Resistant Landscaping

Livermore Municipal Water customers are eligible to get thousands back if they opt for eco-friendly flora. Get the details.

LIVERMORE, CA — The rebate for Livermore Municipal Water customers who install drought-resistant landscaping has increased.

Owners of single-family homes are eligible to receive up to $2,000 for the conversion, according to the city. Owners of multi-family and commercial properties are eligible to get up to $6,000 back.

The rebate will cover up to 50 percent of the cost.

"Please spread the word within your neighborhood," the city said.

Residents will qualify if their lawn is at least 200 square feet and visible from the sidewalk. It must also be irrigated by a sprinkler.

Plants must be designated as very low or low water-use plants.

California Water Service customers do not qualify, but may find rebate options here.
