Livermore Restaurant Among SF Chronicle's 'Top East Bay Restaurants'
See which chic Californian restaurant The Chronicle called one of the best in the region.
LIVERMORE, CA — The San Francisco Chronicle named Range Life, an upscale Livermore restaurant devoted to superb steak and wine, as one of its “Top East Bay Restaurants.”
“Co-owner and chef Bill Niles combines seasonal ingredients in novel and delightful ways at Range Life, Livermore's best restaurant,” the paper raved, calling the steak “exceptional” and the wine list “accessible and fun.”
The open, airy restaurant and bar inside a converted 19th-century building on Railroad Avenue specializes in local, seasonal Californian cuisine like stracciatella & tomato coriander jam, or happy acre heirloom tomatoes. It is renowned for its Anderson Ranch lamb rib chop and grass-fed flat iron. It’s no surprise that this restaurant in the heart of wine country has an extensive wine list with several entries from the Livermore Valley. Diners can also enjoy a large list of cocktails and local beers, all while staring out at vineyards or dining on the patio beneath a 100-year-old peppercorn tree.

Most of The Chronicle’s list centered around Berkeley and Oakland, but a few restaurants in Pleasanton and Danville also got a nod.
