Livermore Uncorked Competition Names Best Wines

LIVERMORE, CA —The winners of the Tri-Valley Conservancy’s 14th annual Livermore Uncorked! Wine Competition were announced Thursday at the Bella Rosa Event Center at Garré Winery.

The competition to honor winemaking excellence is open to wineries making wines from fruit grown in the Livermore Valley. A record 33 wineries entered 175 different wines for consideration. A screening panel of Napa-area winemakers helped narrow the selection to 75 wines, and judges Julie Schreiber and Nick Liang of Uncle Yu’s in Livermore and sommelier Savannah Vento Chun helped select the winners through a taste-off.

The winners are listed below. The winning Garré Vineyard wines were made by winemaker Aaron Luna, whose 2022 Garré Grenache Rosé also won Best Rosé at the Alameda County Fair in March. The winning Las Positas wines were made by winemaker Brent Amos, whose 2022 Las Positas Verdelho also won Best White at the fair.
