Livermore Valley Wineries Win Big At SF Chronicle Wine Competition
Wineries from the Livermore Valley Wine Community won a record 211 awards, including three Best of Class awards.
LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Valley Wine Community, an association of the region's wineries, received a record 211 medals in the 2025 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, the largest wine competition in North America.
Las Positas Vineyards was named the White Wine Sweepstakes Winner for the second year in a row for their 2023 Estate Reserve Albariño. This marks the first time a winery secured back-to-back wins in this category, according to an LVWC news release. Three LVWC wines received Best of Class, and another 23 won Double Gold.
“The entire Livermore Valley wine region is honored to have our wines recognized by a leading industry competition and their distinguished panel of judges,” LVWC Executive Director Brandi Lombardi said in an interview. “Bringing home a record number of wins this year is a true indication of the hard work and dedication that our winemakers bring to their craft and quality wines that they are making. We hope that this recognition only continues to draw wine lovers from the Bay Area and beyond to come visit and taste our award-winning wines.”
