LIVERMORE, CA — The family of a man who called Livermore home for nearly 50 years and loved its library has donated $106,000 to improve the library's online resources.

Yu-Li Pan died February 2020 and lived in Livermore from 1970 to 2018 after immigrating to the United States from China in 1950. He held a doctorate degree in physics and worked at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory until he retired in 1993.

"These online resources were funded in the hope that Yu-Li Pan’s life’s passions may benefit the library and community that were his home," the city said in a statement.
