Major-Injury Crash Involving Big-Rig on Eastbound I-580 Cleared
One person airlifted to hospital.

A major-injury accident involving a big-rig temporarily has shut down a part of eastbound Interstate Highway 580 in eastern Alameda County this morning, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The crash was reported at 9:42 a.m. on I-580 near Interstate Highway 205, close to the San Joaquin County line. One person was trapped in a vehicle, and a medical helicopter was called to the scene at about 10 a.m. to airlift the wounded person to a hospital, CHP Officer Kevin Bartlett said.
Officials said the freeway reopned at 10:31 a.m.
