Woman Grabber Strikes Again

Police searching for man who pulled down woman's shorts before running away near Mines Road. Suspect believed to be responsible for similar incidents reported by women.

are searching for a man who pulled down a 19-year-old woman's jogging shorts before running away, Sgt. Keith Graves said.

The incident was reported at 11:20 a.m. Sunday and occurred at the 1000 block of Eve Lane.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 40s, standing about 5 feet 8 inches tall, 200 pounds with a mustache. He was wearing a T-shirt and gray jeans, Graves said.

Police suspect the man is responsible for similar incidents reported over the past few years in the area near Mines and Patterson Pass roads, Graves said.

In March a from a man who grabbed her while she was walking around Mines Road. The suspect in that report matches the man described in Sunday's incident, officials said.

He appears to target young females who are jogging or walking in the area, Graves said.

"He's infrequent," Graves said, adding police usually won't hear of similar incidents for six to eight months before the suspect strikes again.

Police previously said there have been at least four or five similar incidents reported in the past two years. Women reported they were grabbed by a man in each incident.

Police have put out extra patrol units in the area, Graves said.

"It is important that if anyone sees a man that matches the description in the area to call police," he said.
