The coroner's office released the name of a 60-year-old music teacher killed in a Nov. 6 hit and run near Livermore.

TRACY, CA — A 60-year-old music teacher and father of three young children was killed in a hit-and-run accident on I-580 earlier this month, according to the San Joaquin County Coroner and the California Highway Patrol.

The coroner's office confirmed to Patch that the victim of the Nov. 6 hit-and-run was Andrew Verdoes, a 60-year-old man from Tracy. Verdoes was riding his motorcycle at around 7:40 that evening on eastbound 580 near Grant Line Road in Tracy, according to CHP. He was side swiped by a gold Lexus SUV weaving erratically through traffic, and was ejected from his motorcycle underneath a passing truck in another lane, resulting in fatal injuries.

The truck and the SUV briefly stopped at the shoulder before fleeing the scene, according to CHP. The semi-truck was described as hauling a white shipping container with red lettering on a flat bed. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Dublin CHP at 925-828-0466.
