LIVERMORE, CA — Local leaders gathered last Wednesday for the opening of the Patterson Ranch Trail, a 2.3-mile trail through Sycamore Grove Park. The new trail open to the public begins at the Arroyo Road Parking Lot at Sycamore Grove Park, and takes visitors on a scenic hike with panoramic views of the Tri-Valley, Brushy Peak, Mt. Diablo, Lake Del Valle, and Cresta Blanca.

Zone 7 acquired the 5,000-acre Patterson Ranch property, and over the years created 19 miles of trails, according to a news release from Zone 7 and the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District. The new Patterson Ranch Trail adds 2.3 miles.

Over five days, 121 volunteers, LARPD Rangers, and Zone 7 employees spent hundreds of hours competing the trail.
