Obituary: Audrey Dawn MacManus

Audrey Dawn MacManus, beloved wife of Brett MacManus, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 1:20 AM in Tampa, Florida. She was 50 years old.

Audrey was born on January 3, 1974, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, to Timothy and Vivien Quinn of El Dorado Hills, California. She grew up in a loving family and carried that love and compassion throughout her life.

Audrey spent most of her career as a Retail Store Manager, bringing her dedication and leadership to The Children's Place, Talbots, Lucky Brand, and Safeway. She loved her career and found immense joy in mentoring and guiding the young people who worked for her. Audrey established very strong and memorable relationships with her employees, especially the young women, offering them support, encouragement, and wisdom that helped shape their personal and professional lives.

Audrey and Brett shared a deep and abiding love, celebrating 10 years together filled with joy, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Audrey's kindness, strength, and generosity were the cornerstones of their relationship, and she was a source of inspiration to all who knew her. Audrey was the Yin to Brett’s Yang and his Compass. She will truly be missed every day in his life.

Audrey had an extreme love for all creatures, especially sea life. Dolphins, manatees, and sea turtles were creatures she loved immensely. In her final wishes, Audrey requested a sea burial so she could rest among the beloved creatures she cherished so much. Audrey was buried at sea in the Gulf of Mexico at sunset on May 28th, 2024. Many friends and family were in attendance to witness this last moment with Audrey, honoring her wish to be laid to rest among the sea life she adored.

Audrey is survived by her devoted husband, Brett MacManus; her parents, Timothy and Vivien Quinn; her children, Kayla Block (29), Alli MacManus (27), Emily Block (26), and Abbi MacManus (25); her siblings, Dale Quinn (married to Mariana Alvarado), Hilary Tellesen (engaged to Jake Daley), and Laurel McBride (married to Doug McBride); and her nieces and nephew, whom she adored.

Audrey Dawn MacManus will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, mentorship, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
