Palajac Announces Run for Re-Election to LARPD Board
Palajac said her experience as an incumbent on the Board and as a Landscape Architect make her the best candidate.

Jan Palajac, incumbent Vice Chair of the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD), announced her candidacy for re-election to the District’s Board of Directors.
Palajac has served on the Board since 2017. She was the Board Chair during Covid and is proud of the part she played in keeping parks, open spaces and trails open during that time. She advocated for streamlining LARPD’s organizational structure, updating policies, and addressing the pension liabilities. LARPD is in a much stronger position now than it was prior to the pandemic. Going forward, Palajac’s priorities will be to promote a diverse variety of programs, especially for the underserved communities; address the maintenance of LARPD’s facilities; and find additional funding sources to support the growing demands for more programs and facilities.
Palajac has been a licensed Landscape Architect for 35 years. She spent the last 17 years of her career as a Landscape Architect for the City of San Jose where her primary responsibility was the design and construction of parks and urban trails. She retired in 2017. She decided to run for LARPD shortly after moving to Livermore in 2016 because she wanted to use her knowledge as a Landscape Architect to give back to her new community.
