U.S. Foodservice-San Francisco unveils largest rooftop and carport solar power system in Northern California.

on Wednesday activated the largest solar panel system in Alameda County.

The Livermore-based business recently installed a 1.18 megawatt, 4,354 photovoltaic solar panel system. It is considered the largest rooftop and carport solar power system in Northern California.

Officials say the solar panels will generate 40 percent of U.S. Foodservice-San Francisco's power needs during daylight hours.
