PHOTOS: Traffic Collision Shuts Down I-580

A multi-vehicle traffic collision on Saturday afternoon temporarily closed down eastbound Interstate 580, said Jeff Peters, Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Battalion Chief.

At 4 p.m., emergency crews and firefighters responded to a four- to five-vehicle accident on the freeway, just west of Airway Boulevard. The accident shut down all but the No. 1 lane for about a half hour, Peters said.

Two people were transported to local hospitals with minor to moderate injuries.
