Police Seek School Supplies For Needy Students
Weekend event aims to collect school supplies for area children.

The Livermore Police Department is hosting it annual “Stuff the Cruiser” event this weekend.
Look for a police cruiser in front of (2700 Las Positas Road), Office Max (2400 Las Positas Road), and the (1500 First St.) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Police employees and volunteers are asking community members to stuff the patrol car full of school supplies. Requested items are backpacks, paper, binders, pens, pencils, erasers, folders, protractors, compasses, glue, calculators and scissors.
The filled backpacks will be given to students in need so that they can start the school year with the supplies they need.

Students receiving the donated supplies have been identified through our Horizons Counseling program and the . We supply students at all grade levels.
Last year we were able to supply 249 students with backpacks filled with school supplies. We hope to be able to provide 300 students with supplies this year.
People who want to make a donation but cannot come to the above events can drop off their school supplies in the front lobby of the Police Department on or before 6 p.m. Monday.
We also will have a patrol car in front of the Livermore Police Department (1110 S. Livermore Ave.) on Saturday and Sunday to collect school supplies.
