Portion Of Tesla Road Closed To All Thru Traffic

LIVERMORE, CA — Tesla Road is closed to all thru traffic from Reuss Road until the county line, Alameda County announced at 11:08 a.m. Tuesday. That means that all cars are not allowed to pass barriers unless there is no other way for them to reach their destination.

There is a hard closure at Mile Marker 9.5, the county said.

The closure appears to be due to unsafe road conditions. "The road has been inspected and deemed unsafe for travel due to the erosion. This failure was discovered this morning and a timeline for remaining closed cannot be established at this time due to the continuing storm," Alameda County Public Works Agency spokesperson Leslie Robertson told Patch in an email.

The county posted photos of a cracked roadway next to a steep, unprotected drop below the side of the road.
