SigAlert Issued On I-580 Due To Fatal 3-Car Crash: CHP
Lanes reopened after a multi-car crash that killed a motorcyclist Thursday morning.
LIVERMORE, CA — Several lanes of westbound I-580 reopened at around 11 a.m. following a multi-car accident that killed a cyclist.
The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert for westbound I-580 in Livermore due to a three-vehicle fatal crash. The first four lanes from the right and the express lane were closed west of North Livermore Avenue, according to the CHP log. Westbound traffic backed up for miles — from Altamont Pass to the intersection with SR-84.
The crash was first reported at 9:06 a.m. A motorcycle collided with a small gray Nissan, and a white Mercedes SUV.

A SigAlert was issued at 9:31. The Alameda County Coroner was called to the scene.
CHP Dublin tweeted that the crash was fatal.
