Supervisor David Haubert launches Foster Family Support Initiative
County Supervisor Haubert launches a collaborative effort to increase support for foster children & families and hosts a Town Hall in Dublin

In 2024, Alameda County District 1 Supervisor David Haubert launched an initiative to enhance support for Foster Children & Youth and their Resource Parents (formerly called Foster Parents) in his district which includes parts of the Tri-Valley and Tri-Cities. In partnership with Alameda County Department of Child & Family Services, non-profits, educational institutions, and community members, this initiative aims to improve the outcomes of children placed in Foster Care in our County and strengthen collaboration amongst the agencies that support Foster Children, Families, and Transitional Aged Youth. “As our district strives to provide nurturing & safe environments for children in need, it is essential to engage with foster families to understand their challenges, celebrate their successes, and provide valuable resources” Supervisor David Haubert said.
In an effort to strengthen partnerships, connect our community-based organizations with caring constituents, and provide informative presentations, Supervisor Haubert hosts quarterly information sessions and is hosting the 2nd Tri-Valley Town Hall on Tuesday, February 25th, from 5-7:15 pm, at the Dublin Library in their Community Room. Community members are invited to attend to learn about becoming Resource Parents, volunteer opportunities, and ways to support foster families. The Town Halls are a platform to learn more and strengthen commitment from community volunteers, in small or large ways, to help support foster youth and resource parents on a successful journey.
