Swalwell To Host Cybersecurity Summit At Las Positas College
Experts from the FBI, CISA, Meta, and more will help small businesses prepare against cyberattacks.
LIVERMORE, CA — Representative Eric Swalwell is hosting a summit on cybersecurity for small businesses at Las Positas College Friday. The summit will focus on connecting businesses with government resources to protect against cyber threats. A recent report from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency found that 43 percent of cyberattacks are aimed at small businesses, but only 14 percent of those businesses are prepared to defend themselves.
The summit will feature cybersecurity experts, including:
- Facebook Chief Security Officer and current Director at the Stanford Internet Observatory Alex Stamos
- New York Times best-selling author and cybersecurity journalist Nicole Perlroth
- Experts from the FBI, California Office of Emergency Services, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and more
The talk will take place at Las Positas College on Friday, Oct. 27 from 9:30 am to 1 pm.
