Two Dead in Crash on I-580 East of Livermore Sunday Morning
BREAKING: California Highway Patrol officials said the victims, the 19-year-old driver and his 20-year-old passenger, died at the scene.

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — Two Stockton men died early Sunday morning when the Nissan sedan they were in was rear-ended by a Chevrolet Tahoe on Interstate Highway 580 east of Livermore, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported at about 4:30 a.m. on the eastbound side of the highway just west of West Grant Line Road in unincorporated Alameda County. The victims, the 19-year-old driver and his 20-year-old passenger, died at the scene, said CHP spokesman Officer Derek Reed.
After the Nissan was hit, it apparently left the roadway and then collided with a dirt embankment, Reed said.
The driver of the Chevrolet, also from Stockton, was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The Chevrolet driver was cooperative with investigators. Drugs or alcohol are not suspected to have been a factor in the crash, Reed said. The cause of the wreck is still under investigation.
