• CAPA Pet of the Week: Panchetta (syvnews.com) — If you’re looking for a big, affectionate companion, Panchetta is a 1-year-old Cane Corso–Pit Bull mix available now at the Lompoc Animal Center on West Central Avenue. The 82‑pound pup loves people, enjoys other dogs, and comes with spay, microchip, vaccinations, and a health exam included in the adoption fee. You can visit her daily except Monday, or even sign up to foster.
   

• PG&E to conduct drone inspections over parts of Central Coast (ksby.com) — PG&E crews will be flying drones over power lines in Lompoc in the next three weeks to inspect equipment before winter storms, but your power won’t be shut off during the work. The daytime flights will focus only on PG&E infrastructure in hard-to-reach areas, and any needed repairs will be scheduled based on the photos collected.
   

• County Recognizes Collaborative Effort That Created New Dispatch Center (noozhawk.com) — Lompoc fire and medical calls are now routed through Santa Barbara County’s new Regional Fire Communications Center, which sends the closest available units to emergencies across multiple cities. Officials celebrated the $17.9 million, state-of-the-art facility, highlighting its role during outages and major incidents like wildfires and floods, and its expanded space for emergency alerts and public information.
