17-Year-Old Killed, 6 Teens Injured At Party In Signal Hill: Report

A group of young men opened fire into a warehouse party in Signal Hill over the weekend, shooting seven people.

SIGNAL HILL, CA — A gunman opened fire into a crown at a party in Signal Hill Saturday night, killing a 17-year-old girl and injuring six other teenagers, according to reports.

The Signal Hill Police Department responded to the 1000 block of Burnett Street at 10:16 p.m. after receiving a report of a gunshot victim. When police arrived, they found three girls and four boys with gunshot wounds.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which is leading the homicide investigation, told the Los Angeles Times that the suspects are believed to be five to seven young men. At least three of the suspects were armed with handguns and shot into the warehouse party, Lt. Steven De Jong told the Times.

All seven victims, who were between 17 and 19 years of age, were taken to nearby hospitals after the shooting. One girl was pronounced dead at the hospital, while the six other victims were treated for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

No arrests were made in connection to the shooting and no additional information about the victims or suspects were available at this time.
