LONG BEACH, CA — A 17-year-old Black girl was reported missing after she was last seen in the early morning on Dec. 30. The teen, Kayla Higgs, was last seen at Broadway and West Florence Avenue according to authorities. The California Highway Patrol issued an Ebony alert for Higgs on Thursday. She was described as a 17-year-old Black girl with black hair and brown eyes who is 5 feet 6 inches tall. She was last seen wearing yellow sweats and a black puffer coat and carrying a teddy bear backpack, CHP said. Authorities said Higgs has a "Long Beach California" tattoo on her left ribcage. Anyone with information about her whereabouts was urged to call 911. Anonymous reports can be made by calling 800-444-8477 or online at <a href="http://www.lacrimestoppers.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">LACrimeStoppers.org</a>.
