2 Stabbed In Long Beach Within 10 Hours

Two non-fatal stabbing incidents occurred in Long Beach within 2 miles of each other overnight, police said.

LONG BEACH, CA — A man and a woman were stabbed in separate incidents in Long Beach within two miles of each other within 10 hours.

At about 9:35 p.m. on Thursday officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of East 7th Street regarding a stabbing report. When the Long Beach Police Department arrived, they found a woman who had multiple stab wounds in her upper body.

The woman told police that she was in the area of North Alamitos Beach when she was approached by a man she didn't know. After a brief argument, the man pulled out a knife, stabbed the woman and fled on foot, police said.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

About nine hours later, officers responded to a hospital out of town about another stabbing that happened within the city. When police arrived at the hospital, they found a man with multiple stab wounds in his upper body.

The man told LBPD that he was walking in the 400 block of Shoreline Vilolage Drive when an unknown man stabbed him. Officers went to the area to investigate and sai they were unable to locate a crime scene.

No suspect information was available for either incident and the investigations are ongoing.
