3 Wounded In Multiple Overnight Shootings In Long Beach

It's unclear what prompted the shootings, according to police.

LONG BEACH, CA — Three men were hospitalized Monday night after being wounded in separate shootings just minutes apart in Long Beach, according to police.

Two men were standing near a driveway in the 400 block of East Plymouth Street around 8:19 p.m. when another man shot them, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The suspect then ran away from the scene, the LBPD said. It's unclear why he shot at the men.

Both men were taken to local hospitals for treatment, according to police, who said one was struck by the gunfire in the upper body while the other was shot in the lower body. Both of their injuries are not considered life-threatening, police said.

Officers were called to a local hospital about a minute later after a man arrived with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body, according to police.

Police later found evidence the man had been shot in the 2800 block of Long Beach Boulevard, but the circumstances and motive surrounding the shooting are still under investigation, authorities said.
