- Update: The LBPD arrested four suspects in connections with the murders on June 24 and 25. The first shooting took place at 15th Street and Cedar Avenue. The second one was at 9th Street and Daisy Avenue. The persons in custody are four adults ranging in age from 21 to 32. During the arrests, officers also collected four guns, two rifles, high-capacity magazines, body armor, ammo, and methamphetamine. (LBPD)
- The LBPD was busy chasing a car thief on Saturday. They initially headed to “the 1400 block of E. 16th Street in Central Long Beach.” It then took them to “the North Long Beach area of Artesia Boulevard and Harbor Avenue.” They found the car. By six in the evening, they had their suspect. (LB Post)
- The city is getting more EV charging stations. Right now, Long Beach has 185 total stations. Its goal is to “install up to 250 new chargers.” (Plugshare, @LBPublicWorks)
- LA WineFest is coming back, y’all! Taking place on October 2 and 3, you can drink wine and beer for a good cause. Wineries and craft breweries will present their beverages at Harry Bridges Park, next to the Queen Mary. (If you’ve never had a glass of Snoop Dogg’s 19 Crimes, this is your chance!) (LA Winefest)
- Do you appreciate what you have living in Long Beach? From a San Franciscan’s point of view, the “vibes are slower here, more relaxed and less hurried than the state’s larger cities. And unlike some parts of Los Angeles County, you don’t have to deal with as many influencers and starlets.” When was the last time you were grateful for not living in a hotbed of influencers? You’re welcome. (SF Gate)
