65-Year-Old Woman Suspected Of Stabbing Roommate At Assisted Living Facility

A 65-year-old woman suspected of fatally stabbing her 93-year-old roommate at a Long Beach assisted-living facility.

LONG BEACH, CA — A 65-year-old woman suspected of fatally stabbing her 93-year-old roommate at a Long Beach assisted-living facility was being held Tuesday on $2 million bail.

Officers were called at 3:17 p.m. Thursday to investigate a stabbing in the 3100 block of Artesia Boulevard and arrived to find the victim -- later identified as Alice Pritchard -- with wounds to her upper body, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Pritchard was taken to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The suspect, Linda Womack, was detained at the scene by investigating officers, and later booked on suspicion of murder.

The motive for the stabbing at The Chateau assisted-living home is unknown, according to police.

Womack was being held at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, according to sheriff's inmate records.
