LONG BEACH, CA — Get those earplugs ready, Downtown Long Beach. The annual police and fire memorial ceremony, featuring a 21-gun salute, will take place Tuesday morning.

The memorial, which will begin around 9 a.m. at the Civic Center Plaza, honors the 29 police officers and 14 firefighters who have died in the line of duty.

The ceremony includes the posting of colors, a flag presentation, a "Last Alarm" tribute and a window-rattling 21-gun salute.
