Attempted Murder Suspect Leads Police On Chase To Long Beach: Report

Police arrested a man who is believed to be connected to a shooting in Lakewood last month after a pursuit early Tuesday morning.

LONG BEACH, CA — An attempted murder suspect led Los Angeles police on a pursuit from Hollywood to Long Beach early Tuesday morning, according to reports.

According to Fox 11, officers with the Los Angeles Police Department attempted to stop a black Infinity for a traffic violation at around 1 a.m. The driver didn't stop and drove away with a passenger in the car, Fox 11 reported.

Police told Fox 11 that they ran the car's license plate and revealed it was connected to an attempted murder case in Lakewood from December 2023. The shooting happened on Dec. 8 and the victim survived, police said.

The pursuit led police through streets in Hollywood and spanned five freeways before ending in Long Beach. After the car chase ended, the suspects got out of the car and attempted to flee on foot.

Both men hid for several hours before a K-9 unit was called in to search for the suspect. Eventually, both men surrendered and were taken into custody.
