There was a fatal ATV accident in the flood control channel. Also, a deadly two-car crash occurred near Poly HS. Finally, another day, another shooting. This one happened in Cambodia Town.

Here are the top stories in Long Beach today:

  1. A man believed to be in his 20s was killed after crashing his ATV in the San Gabriel River flood control channel. The accident took place Saturday around 7 p.m. near Wardlow Road. (LB Post)
  2. A deadly two-car-crash left one woman dead early Monday morning at the intersection of Pacific Avenue and 21st Street. Three others had injuries. The scene was near Poly HS and Roosevelt Elementary School. (CBS)
  3. The latest LB shooting happened Saturday in Cambodia Town. Located in the 1400 block of Gaviota Avenue, a man was shot but survived. Bullets damaged two parked vehicles. Police are not sure yet if the crime was gang-related. (LBReport)
  4. The LBPD’s Coordinated Response Team spent some time this weekend at Silverado Park to meet and hang out with kids living in the West Division. (@LBPD)
  5. Robert Garcia, tweeting from his personal account, told people “protesting vaccines and masking” that they “made the decision to make this pandemic worse and extend this health crisis.” (@RobertGarcia)
