The Five News Headlines That Everyone’s Talking About
- A half-acre East LB brush fire is a good reminder that the State is in fire season as well as in a drought. The blaze burned vegetation at 2nd Street and Studebaker Road. (LB Post)
- LB Mayor Robert Garcia promises “swift action” to restore the Queen Mary. The City regained the property along with the surrounding 40 acres that require upkeep. (NBC L.A.)
- Alicia Casey and Tatiana Navarrette received the Mark Bixby Leadership Award. Organizers cited "their achievements and their desire to improve the community." Congratulations! (LB Press Telegram)
- The family of Brian Alvarado is featured in the documentary, “Sky Blossom: Diaries of the Next Greatest Generation.” It received the Christopher Award and San Diego GI Film Festival’s Founders Award. It is in the running for the 2021 Academy Awards. (PT/The Grunion People)
