Bystander Injured In Long Beach Stolen Truck Chase Dies
A man died this week from injuries months after a fleeing suspect plowed into him at Artesia and Long Beach boulevards.
LONG BEACH, CA — A motorist who was critically injured in November when his pickup was struck by a suspect fleeing from deputies in an allegedly stolen vehicle in Long Beach died this week, police said Wednesday.
The man's name was not immediately released.
He was injured around 3:15 p.m. Nov. 24 in the intersection of Artesia and Long Beach boulevards, according to the Long Beach Police Department. Police said a man driving an allegedly stolen vehicle was being pursued by sheriff's deputies when he crashed into a pickup at the intersection.

The driver of the pickup was taken to a hospital in critical condition, and investigators were notified this week that he died from his injuries on Monday, police said.
The suspect was taken into custody and was taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. His passenger was also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Their names were not released. Long Beach police said the pursuit and original stolen vehicle report were being investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
