Here are the top stories in Long Beach today:

  1. When the LBPD was called to the 2400 block of Linden Avenue on Sunday night, they found a car that had been shot at. The driver explained that he was “driving in the area of Atlantic Boulevard towards Burnett Street when he was approached by a dark-colored sedan.” He thought he heard gunfire and saw the sedan take off. Sure enough, “his vehicle had been struck by gunfire,” but nobody was hurt. (LBPD)
  2. Another shooting took place on Sunday in the Lakewood Center Mall parking lot, right in front of Round 1. When officers arrived at 401 Lakewood Boulevard, they “found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound” and noted that there had been “multiple shots.” “Multiple vehicles were seen leaving the area after the shooting.” (LB Post)
  3. Sunday was also busy for the LBFD’s Rescue Boat 1 and marine patrol units. Right around 7 p.m., they responded to a vessel crash involving a “powerboat (that) crashed onto the long dock at Davies Launch Ramp in Alamitos Bay.” Nobody was hurt, and the dock is still in good shape. (LBFD)
  4. La Bocca Felice Ristorante serves Italian seafood and other dishes at 301 West 6th Street in San Pedro. We learned Monday that “next month, (the owner) is going to close down the restaurant and host a private dinner for families that haven’t been able but could really use a night out without any worries or cost.” There will be no advertisement for the event. Instead, “if you or someone you know would like to be a part of it, you are more than welcome to go on their Facebook page to check out the date or contact them directly.” (Random Lengths News)
  5. Mark your calendars! The Pan American Fiesta takes place at Mayfair Park this Thursday through Sunday. Hours are 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be food, entertainment, games, rides, and more! The Susie Hansen Latin Band is scheduled for Friday evening, and the Selena Tribute Band plays Saturday evening. (OC Breeze)
