'Fun-ternship:' Cruise Line Launches Unique (And Paid) Teen Program In CA
The deadline to apply for the program is May 1.

LONG BEACH — Carnival Cruise Lines has launched a paid summer program for teens looking to learn about the businesses' terminal operations.
The program dubbed the "Carnival Fun-ternship Program" is available for teens 17-year-olds and older who live in one of five cities the cruise line considers a homeport, including Long Beach and the surrounding area.
“This will be more than just a unique, fun summer job," David Candib, vice president of port operations cruise line said in a statement. "It will be an opportunity for young people to develop professional skills, build confidence and leadership abilities and gain experience in a part of the travel industry that directly impacts their community’s economy."

Applications will be open through May 1. Those selected will take part in the program from June 21 to Aug. 2, according to cruise line officials.
“We believe this is another great way to invest in the communities we call home, as well as the future of our dynamic and growing cruise industry," Candib said.
