Teen Boy Injured After Being Hit By Vehicle In Long Beach
An investigation into the crash is ongoing, police say.
LONG BEACH, CA — A teenage boy was injured today when he was struckby a vehicle while crossing a busy Long Beach street.
The boy was struck at 7:36 a.m. Friday in the 1600 block of South Street at Walnut Avenue, Long Beach Police Department Sgt. Bradford Stein told City News Service.
"The preliminary investigation indicates that a teenage male juvenile pedestrian was crossing South Street in a crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a male adult,'' Stein said. "LBFD paramedics responded and transported the pedestrian to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to his upper body.''

The crash investigation was continuing. Distracted driving was under consideration as a possible contributing factor, Stein said.
