CHP Officer Remains Hospitalized After Long Beach Crash
A CHP officer is left with major head trauma after the crash, which killed a 24-year-old pedestrian.
LONG BEACH, CA — A California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer remains hospitalized Tuesday following a collision that killed a 24-year-old pedestrian in Long Beach.
CHP Officer Alfredo has major head trauma resulting from the crash, which occurred about 4:40 a.m. Sunday on Del Amo Boulevard, west of Cherry Avenue, according to a CHP spokesman.
According to the CHP accident report, Cezanine Mount of Long Beach was crossing Del Amo outside a crosswalk when he was hit by CHP Officer Alfredo Gutierrez's motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gutierrez was ejected from his motorcycle and was taken to Long Beach Memorial Hospital for treatment of serious head injuries.
