  1. Update: The LB Planning Commission denied the appeal of Atlantic Plaza condo residents. This means that the seven-story, mixed-use construction at 525 East Broadway is a go. (LB Post)
  2. The latest gunshot fatality in the City is a homeless man who was found at the Riviera Point Jetty near the 700 block of East Shoreline Drive. Detectives request the public’s assistance; call 562-570-7244 with information. (CBS)
  3. Governor Gavin Newsom made another visit to LB on Thursday. After participating in a photo opportunity during a Clean California site trash removal, he unveiled his plans for a $12 billion investment in dealing with the homelessness crisis over the next 24 months. (Office of the Governor)
  4. The alleged would-be Bluff Park bomber is now on trial. He stands accused of “providing material support to terrorists and attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction” when targeting a rally at the park. The alleged bomber connected with an undercover FBI agent rather than a terrorist bomb maker. The defense alleges entrapment and maternal rejection. (LB Post)
  5. The City’s lawn program has conserved 120 million gallons of water since 2010 by ripping out 3.6 million square feet of lawn and replacing them with drought-resistant, native plants. The lawn-to-garden program is still ongoing if you want to participate. (ABC)
