Did You Feel It? 3.2 Quake Struck Near Avalon

This is the latest in a series of small quakes in the Southern California area this week.

AVALON, CA - An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.2 has struck in the ocean about 20 miles east-southeast of Avalon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake struck at 6:45 p.m. Thursday, the USGS reported. No injuries or damage have been reported.

This is the latest in a series of small quakes in the Southern California area this week. Late Monday night, a 3.4 temblor struck four miles south of Santa Clarita followed by a 1.6-magnitude quake in Simi Valley and a 2.4 quake in Valencia.

Early Wednesday morning, a magnitude 3.5 earthquake hit near Port Hueneme, which was felt as far away as Camarillo, Ventura and Oxnard.
