Dog Stabbing Captured On Video In Long Beach: Reports
A source told the Long Beach Watchdog that the canine was protecting its owner and others when it was stabbed Saturday morning.
LONG BEACH, CA — A dog is facing a long road to recovery after someone stabbed it early Saturday morning, according to multiple news reports.
The dog was protecting its owner and others from a man approaching them with a large knife, yelling anti-homeless epithets, according to a report from the Long Beach Watchdog.
The graphic video posted by the Long Beach Watchdog on Instagram shows a man with a knife walking towards the area where the dog is. The dog barks at the man who swings the knife multiple times towards it.

Officers responded to the scene around 2:23 a.m.. They rendered medical aid to the dog at the scene before a community member took it to a local animal hospital for treatment, according to a report by KTLA.
No arrests were made as the suspect fled the scene in a car before police arrived, according to news reports.

The extent of the dog's injuries is not yet clear, but it appears the attack left the dog unable to walk, according to the reports.
