Drive Killed in Accident on 710 Freeway
The driver's SUV veered off the road and overturned early in the morning.

A driver was killed when his SUV veered off a freeway transition road in Long Beach and overturned early Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The motorist, who was not immediately identified, was driving a 2003 Kia SUV on the transition road from the northbound Long Beach (710) Freeway to the westbound Artesia (91) Freeway about 1:45 a.m. when he “failed to safely negotiate the curvature of the roadway” and lost control of the vehicle, the CHP reported.
The SUV traveled northeast, off the roadway and overturned, coming to rest on its roof within the transition road from the eastbound Artesia Freeway to the northbound Long Beach Freeway. The driver, who was the only person in the SUV, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP.
