A motorist in Long Beach escaped injury when two suspects fired into his vehicle, authorities said.

LONG BEACH, CA — A motorist in Long Beach escaped injury when two suspects fired into his vehicle, authorities said Sunday.

Officers were dispatched at about 11:40 p.m. Saturday to a shooting in the 700 block of Alamitos Avenue, where they contacted the uninjured driver, the Long Beach Police Department reported.

"The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was sitting in his vehicle when he observed two male suspects pointing firearms at his vehicle, subsequently shooting in his direction, and striking the vehicle," according to a police statement,.
