The 40-year-old was charged with 11 felony counts, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

LONG BEACH, CA — A 40-year-old man is facing life in prison after allegedly trying to run over a tow truck driver before leading police on a high-speed chase that ended in Long Beach and left one person injured, the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office announced today.

Adam James Bowen was charged Wednesday with one count each of attempted murder, carjacking, fleeing from a pursuing police officer's vehicle, resisting arrest, grand theft of an automobile, two counts of hit-and-run resulting in serious injury, and four counts of assault with a deadly weapon, according to the LADA.

Prosecutors allege that on March 28, Bowen carjacked a tow truck operator and tried to kill him by running him over with the vehicle.

“This was an extremely reckless and brazen act that endangered the lives of other drivers and pedestrians that could have resulted in a far more tragic outcome,” District Attorney Nathan Hochman said in a statement. "The level of callous disregard for public safety is unacceptable, and we will vigorously pursue justice for all of the victims in this case.”
